Apple Slices! by OJhat Apple Slices! by OJhat
I have too many photos to work with! This came from the rather boring and not-quite-so-fantastic-as-it-could-have-been Harvest festival on my campus. Will probably upload more to fit in with the holiday theme. Why is Berry Punch and Noi there? Because I'm trying to make my photos more natural with 'accidental' ponies walking in the camera frame in the background.

Great work here: the "accidental" ponies in the background give the feel that there are probably a bunch of other ponies outside of the shot (to me, at least). Also, good job with the transparency around the bowl; I'm curious as to how you achieved that effect.

in photoshop, I simply used the brush tool, set it to 'clear' instead of 'normal', and changed the opacity of the brush itself to clear away part of the visible glass on the food bowl that was in front of Applejack to create a translucent effect. It really all has to do with layering for the most part.

(I'm thinking abot making a tutorial if I find there are enough people who want me to do one)

Ah, speaking of a tutorial, a tutorials section in Ponies in Real Life is something I've been thinking about recently. The Vector Club has something similar and it's quite helpful.

that sounds like a great thing to have. especially those who don't understand how photoshop or GIMP or whichever other art software works but they want to use it. I most certainly like that idea.

I'll try to run it by posipony eventually. He seems to have lapsed into "busy mode."

so it was easy then. ah well, the point is of course to simply have some fun hiding her and having people look for her, not hide her and make it impossible to find. you have a sharp eye.

I used to have books where you had to find really well hidden stuff like this. After a while I developed a way to scan for hidden images and find everything that was concealed in a few moments. It isn't that it's easy, I just have had a lot of practice and know my way around.

Man, you hid Derpy too well. Even after reading where she was it took me a minute to find her

but that is the idea. to see who is the best at finding Derpy (but not deleriously hard no one else can find her). I don't even know if anyone has found her in the piano photo yet, tha's the toughest so far by my account.
